Pre-Purchase Inspection

/ Getting The Right Vehicle For You

Know What You’re Getting—Before You Purchase

Buying a vehicle, new or used, is an exciting moment in a person’s life! I’m sure many people have heard their family members or friends talk fondly about the first car they ever owned. While plenty of these memories are positive or uneventful, not everyone shared that sentiment. Why? Well, it could be for a variety of reasons, but the most common explanation is their investment ended up being a never-ending money pit, or a ‘lemon’. The weight of dealing with significant financial or emotional distress caused by expensive repairs or unreliable transportation can be exhausting. And that’s where we step in.

While buying a new vehicle typically bypasses this problem, buying a used vehicle of any kind has the possibility of being problematic. That’s why The Euro Shop offers three kinds of pre-purchase inspections to help you make the informed decision that’s best for you (and your wallet).

What To Expect With Your Inspection

The purpose of a pre-purchase inspection is to provide the potential buyer with a detailed assessment performed by a certified technician. During the inspection, all mechanical and cosmetic aspects are reviewed, and any possible safety issues are documented.

What To Expect With Your Inspection

We offer three options for pre-purchase inspections, which provides potential buyers a wider range of services to best suit their needs and inquiries.

1

Level 1

Complete inspection of the vehicle, top to bottom. We check all suspension, safety, drivetrain, brakes, tires, whatever mechanical can be looked at on the car without “diagnosing” a specific issue. Like if a check engine light is on, we don’t diagnose that, but we mention it in the report and can diagnose it per request. Notate any drivability concerns. We inspect the service history, check the body for visible damage and take pictures of any dents, dings, scratches that we find. Then we run through the interior and make sure all electrical components are operating as they should, and notate/take pictures of any specific damage to interior components (trim, seats, whatever).
2

Level 2

Everything that is in a Level 1, but it also includes checking all of the metal body panels with a paint depth meter. The point of this is to show uniformity in the paint on a car. An abnormal paint depth can indicate previous body damage or repair, or can provide details as to the extent of the damage even if there is a known damage history.
3

Level 3

Everything that is in Level 1 and 2, but it also includes a trip to our partner body shop (County Line Collision) so they can put the vehicle on a frame machine and inspect for frame damage or repair. This is mostly important if there is a known history of a collision. Verifying the condition of the frame can indicate whether or not there was structural damage to the vehicle as a result of a collision.

Post-Purchase Inspection- Purchase a vehicle and want to know what work needs done? We offer the same three levels of inspection to recently-purchased vehicles, too.
